Main Research Lines / Participation in SusPlast:

  • Providing new insight in the biodegradation of oil-based plastic including:

    ·       Going further in the characterization of molecular basis of PE degradation driven by the wax worm (Galleria mellonella) including the full repertory of polymers being degraded by this worm, the main degradation monomers and/or by-products and the enzymatic arsenal responsible of such degradation.

    ·       Expanding the arsenal of microbial degraders of PET by providing a large collection of new microbial strains harbouring the ability of degrade this polymer.

    ·       Expanding the collection of known PET hydrolases enzyme by characterizing new members isolated from bacterial degraders of PET.
